  • Report

With your home inspection, you will get a detailed and comprehensive inspection report, which will serve as your guide for as long as you own the home. It not only describes the house components and their condition, but also provides insight into what improvements will be necessary, and when.

The home inspection report you receive describes each of the major systems of the home, including:

    • Roof
    • Exterior
    • Structure
    • Electrical
    • Heating
    • Insulation (which includes) ventilation
    • Plumbing
    • Interior

The report addresses the condition of each of these systems. Any recommended repairs, replacements or improvements are clearly documented. The report also includes a summary of significant issues for quick reference.

The summary is often the most important part of the report for people making their purchase decision. Once you’ve moved into your home, you’ll likely find more detail is required, and that’s when the body of the report becomes most useful.

For those requiring still further explanation, the reference material in the report provides additional insight.

    Home safety tips

The report will provide you with a number of home safety tips, addressing everything from smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to overhead garage door openers.

  • What Type of Report Should I Expect?

Strathcona Home Inspections use Hoizon Home Inspection Software to produce your home inspection report.  We have chosen this software for its easy to follow layout and clean crisp content.  Your report will include richly illustrated text as well as photos of your home for clarity and reference.  It will identify components that are not performing as intended, as well as items that may be nearing the end of their average life expectancy, (Summary Items) along with descriptions of all major components visible to the home inspector during the inspection.

Your report will be clearly laid out and you will be able to tab through the 9 major components included in a home inspection. Summary, Roofing, Exterior, Structure, Electrical, Heating, Insulation, Plumbing, and Interior are all found under color coded tabs making navigation through your report simple and user friendly.

We have also included two additional tabs for your reference, More Info which provides valuable home maintenance tips and our customized Site Info which includes a breakdown of the underwriting information most commonly required by Insurance Brokers in British Columbia.

After careful assessment of many different home inspection report writing software options out there it is our professional opinion that Horizon delivers the best report in the business and we are confident you will agree.
